Apparently Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey are going to have a baby. This raises an important social question. Should the mentally retarded be allowed to reproduce? In some ways western society seems very controlling. You need a license to have a dog, own a gun, drive a car but if you want to create a human being, stuff up their lives, scar them physically and emotionally so they will become a burden to society, then go ahead! No-one is going to stop you; in fact the government will probably give you money to help the process! Even if you are a strung out prostitute junkie with more debt than a small African nation you can still reproduce without any legal restrictions. If your life is a complete mess, why not wreck your offspring’s as well, maybe you will feel better.
